As a child I had an intrinsic need to create. I was constantly drawing. Growing up in Montana, I spent the majority of my time in the hills, observing wildlife. As a result, my sketches consisted mainly of animals. Majoring in art in college seemed the natural choice and I began to explore sculpting and carving. These three-dimensional crafts captivated my interest. They brought my drawings to life and made them into something real and tangible. Somewhere along the line, I began experimenting with primitive skills, building atlatls and traditionally tanning deer hides. I was enamored with the idea that man could find all that was needed for survival in his environment. Squirrel Warriors is a culmination of the interests and skills I have gained over the years. I hope my unique creations provide you with the same imaginative inspiration as they have for me.
